This is a drop-in replacement for the Macintosh 128k/512k/Plus battery socket.
Also known as part “CAPETRONIC DS 1011” and “815-0727-B”.

Improved V2 revision – more efficient, more flexible, and safer

The V2 revision introduces several important technical improvements over the previous version:

Approximately 25% higher efficiency, significantly reducing battery drain and extending operating life

Support for 1.2 V rechargeable batteries (NiMH) in addition to previously supported battery types

Built-in reverse-polarity protection, ensuring the circuit is protected if the battery is accidentally inserted the wrong way around

Supported battery types:

1.2 V rechargeable batteries (NiMH)

1.5 V alkaline batteries

3.7 V Li-ion 14500 cells

4.2 V fully charged Li-ion 14500 cells

These enhancements make the V2 version more energy-efficient, more versatile, and more robust for long-term use.

This product requires basic soldering experience.

Do you have Bose Cinemate speakers? Do you wish they would just turn on automatically when you need them and turn off when you’re done. This device provides everything you need to do just that. Using it, you can create an adapter that plugs into the interface module cable and adds audio sensing capability to your Bose Cinemate speakers.

How It Works

When placed inline between the sub woofer module and the interface module, the Cinesense adapter repeatedly polls the optical audio input for a signal. When a signal is sensed, the speakers are automatically turned on. The adapter will continue to monitor the signal while the speakers are in use. Once the signal has stopped for ten seconds, the adapter will turn the speakers off.

NOTE: The adapter only looks at the optical input and will not respond to audio signals on the analog inputs. This is a potential future enhancement that can be made to the design. Also, the term “Audio Signal” here is referring to optical audio “data” which is not the same as “sound”. It’s possible for the optical audio signal to be present and silent (e.g. music player is powered on but is paused).

Aside from the new found ability to automatically turn on and off in response to the audio signal, all aspects of the speakers are the same. You can still use your remote to control the volume and mute the speakers. You can even use your remote to turn the speakers off, though if there is an audio signal present, they’ll just turn right back on again.

This project only works with Bose Cinemate Series II speakers. Since the Cinemate Series I speakers don’t have an optical audio input, the Cinesense will not work with them.

"LocalTalk network over WiFi"-device

AirTalk is a dongle that extends a LocalTalk (or PhoneNet, or equivalent) network over WiFi.

The AirTalk has a serial port, where you can either plug in a modem cable to a single LocalTalk device (Mac, printer, router, etc) or plug a LocalTalk or PhoneNet box in to add it to the end of a whole LocalTalk network. It can either get its power from Micro USB or from an ADB passthrough.

AirTalk is intended to be user friendly and plug and play. It requires no software on your vintage Mac or LocalTalk device to use it, the Chooser extension only sets it up, so it will work with things like printers or routers as well as with Macs.

This is a fully assembled and working AirTalk for direct use!

The “AirTalk Pro” comes in a custom designed 3D printed case and a beautiful custom made acrylic cover.
All devices have been extensively tested before shipping!

The “AirTalk Pro” contains:

AirTalk Pro Device

Chooser software on floppydisk (one per order)

Reset-button tool

Optional ADB cable

8pin serial cables can be found in this web shop.
Software installation and setup can be found here: https://support.airtalk.nl/
